Reporting "and" analysis is very important to you
You may have noticed that different people use the words “reporting” and “analysis” as if they were interchangeable terms or almost synonyms. Although these two fields of web analytics draw on the same collected web data, reporting and analysis are very different in terms of their purpose, function, output, delivery and price. Without a clear distinction of difference, an organization may sell itself short of a case (usually analytics) and its web analytics may not reap the full benefits of the investment. Although I’m primarily focusing on web analytics, companies may face similar challenges with other analytics tools (e.g., ad serving, email, search, social, etc.).
Most companies have analytical solutions to get more value for their organization. In other words, the ultimate goal of reporting and analytics is to increase sales and reduce costs (e.g., adding value). Both reporting and analysis play a role in influencing and driving actions that lead to greater value in organizations.
For the purpose of this blog post, I am not delving into what happens before or after the reporting and analysis stages, but I acknowledge that both areas are critical and challenging steps in the overall data-driven decision-making process. It is important to remember that reporting and analysis can only be valuable if they are worked on.

Run an SEO audit
Text website speed
Perform competitor analysis
Analyze website traffic
They are not wrong, and we cover the same exercises at the bottom of the page. But we think website speed, SEO, and competitor and traffic analysis are just part of the story behind your website’s performance.
The missing part of analyzing your website is understanding your visitors, users and customers and giving them what they have come across on your pages so that they don’t just go to your perfectly optimized site.
What is website analysis?
Website analysis is the practice of testing and analyzing the performance of a website related to SEO, speed, competition and traffic.
Any site can benefit from some form of website analysis if used to improve results—for example, reducing page size to increase overall speed or optimizing a landing page with lots of traffic for further conversions.
